Anyway, this episode I rant about never wanting to be an influencer, how much I hate AI, and talk a bit about music and UFOs. I hope you like it! Tama Club-JAM Flyer Performance [Aether]

It dawned on me that I never really recorded high quality acoustic drum version of this song, so I thought I'd do it with the CJ-Flyer. I did record an acoustic version at one point, but it was only with two mics. This one has the full kit miked up. I also changed my hi hat pattern, because the constant 16th notes on the old version always sounded a bit stiff to me. Check out my Record Label at...

I can’t afford to do that. 😐
This really helped me. . Thanku...I will incorporate real cymbals and acoustic into the work I'll do
Good choice
Our Moukey paired with my old cellphone Just purchased a new cellphone ,new number . I paired my headphones and esrphones but can't for the life of me pair our Moukey to my new phone. We're having 4th July bbq tomorrow, need our speaker ready and going in time for the party....Help!
Make sure it’s not still paired to something else
What size snare? Looks like 13x6? I love my Paiste’s too. I use all 2002’s, but would like to add something different in there. Do you like the 900’s? Thanks for the grooves!
It's tiny! It's a 10x5, 8" and 10" toms, and 14" kick, Tama Club-Jam Flyer. Thanks man! I love 900s. They're a fantastic sounding line.
I switched to an iPhone 13 Pro when it came out and it blew my mind. GarageBand on my phone has taken SO much of my time. Haha I think I’m going to switch to a Mac and get logic.
hey there! nice review 🙂 may i ask how do you record the audio using a phone or a laptop? thanks!
The easiest way is to use an audio interface, many are compatible with both computers and mobile like this amzn.to/4cEVz6I. Most of them also come with a DAW program needed to record.
I don't know if you still monitor comments for this video, but I have been unable to find firmware for the TD-6 on Roland's site. The TD-6V is there, can that be used? Also, your description says "Link coming soon" for your website, but... not there. I am still looking for the PCFMS file.
Usually you NEVER want to mix firmwares, but the TD-6v and TD-6 are exactly the same as far as software goes, so you can use the TD-6v firmware. Still though, use at your own risk.
@@demonicsweaters Right, I'm very cautious about firmware. Thank you.
Wow! Can you tell me if it blocks the shorts too? Because I hate shorts. It was hard to tell from what your showed because there were no video lengths.
I hate those freaking things too. But no, it just blocks thumbnails. But if you click the x on the shorts tab, youtube will hide them for a couple months. There's also a different plugin that can hid them permanently called Unhook unhook.app/
@@demonicsweaters Wow thanks!
😂 night manager at Denny’s. Cool songs!
Thanks Marie!
I know I'm incredibly late to this video, but can you tell me how this multipad compare to the yamaha dd75? In term of sounds and ease of playing? And thanks for the great videos
The answer to this question is a matter of opinion. But I prefer the PD705.
@@demonicsweaters Many thanks for your answer sir
Thank u for ur insights
You're welcome, I hope they help!
can you play ghost notes on this kit? im planning to buy one😅
Yep
so glad this shows on youtube. would die to see you guys, lol! def biggest drum influence 🙏
Thank you!
@@demonicsweaters hey! mad respect to you :) i actually had a quick question, will the repair and rewind clear and black mix vinyl ever restock or is it just a limited time thing?
@@inkoherency Hmm, I actually have no idea about that. The label handles all of that stuff. Maybe you should email them directly.
@@demonicsweaters alright, thank you so much!!
@@demonicsweaters haha nevermind! i managed to get the last one :)
I was today-years-old when I found out you have a podcast lol 😅 Totally feel you about the election, shit's a goddamn joke right now
I hadn’t done it since the pandemic, but recently started again
I play in a prog trio and we all run direct as well. I play a modified version of the Roland VAD306 with an upgraded TD27 module. I wish I could talk my band into adding a couple of 'side fill' monitors consisting of the main mix, because if some of the audience is standing directly at the stage, and the mains are actually even with or slightly behind them, they probably wont get the full experience as they would with standard stage volume. Thoughts on this?
Yeah, it’s not a bad idea. But of course that just means more stuff you’ll have to bring.
Hello and congratulations for your channel and for this video, of this percussion machine, so interesting; 1º, I would like to know what the touch of the pads is like? Does the drumstick bounce well? 2º Is the quality of the sounds 16 bits, 24 bits? 44,100 hertz, 48,000...? 3º can it reproduce sounds recorded at 24 bits-48,000 hertz? Thank you so much All the best PS, sorry for the English, it is translated by Google Translator

samples are mono 16/44100, it feels good to play
@@demonicsweaters OK, many thanks for your response. All the best
Awesome rhythm beat and sounds. All you need is some Depeche Mode vocals
Thanks for the video! What about Crimson II? I’d plan to upgrade the Hi-Hat Pad on my Crimson II……
I would leave it alone
Hey buddy, thanks for these exercises. I have been wanting to do some left foot work for a while now and this is the perfect level for me. I’m trying to play Funky Monks by RHCP and neeeeed to know the basics.
Could you do another video about this and demo the built in kits/sounds? Thanks!
Sorry, I don't have it anymore
I played Evans for years after being disappointed with Remo's quality control. Then I used some Evans clear batter heads (EC2 and G2) and they started pitting after only a few weeks of use. Then I started using the Aquarian Performance 2s and I was blown away by how big and fat they sound on toms! Super durable too!
Man I bought a similar drum set, and I might have never got it together without this video. Thank you!
Glad to help!
I would like to have the option to select kits from all the packs and make my own pack. Because i like some kits from every pack. That would unlock the oportunity to make some user preset kit with all the sound selected from diferent packs. What do you think of this? Can be a future update?
Any info on if these work well with the Yamaha EAD10? I tried using it and it’s as if the “range” it senses is the entire drum and when I hit the rim or side of the drum it triggers the sample. Any idea how to make it only sense the batter head?
I'd stick with Yamaha triggers with Yamaha modules.
Yea, I literally just finished watching it and all it did was remind me there's no hope left for the current system. Maybe we need to be more like Japan after all 😂
Thanks man! I'm getting this kit! It's EXACTLY what I was looking for! Your playing is great BTW!
Great vid! I've decided just to do it the way you show in this video. I heard there can be triggering issues with its actual double pedal.
I'm a Canadian but I watched the debate and like most of the world, follow American politics. This is truly madness. The debate felt like a Saturday Night Live sketch. Like actual caricatures of real people. Truly bizarre. ..with respect to your country.
Totally agree
Do you need 2 inputs for the drum kit, or will one be okay? Alternatively could I put the 2 mono jacks into a splitter before connecting it to my audio interface, that way I can use all 4 slots on my interface for different instruments?
I'm not sure why you would split the two output jacks. You'd then end up with 4 jacks if I am understanding you correctly. One of the outputs on the Nitro/Surge is mono, I forget which one, but it says if you just look at the outputs, one will say mono. Just use that one and you're golden.
Does it have latency?
in what context?
I just watched an audacity tutorial from you(which was very helpful, thanks),and this popped up. Great song, and energy. Nice one 👍🎶
Thank you!
hi so i bought this ssl2, & i have no idea what the back connectors are? they all look like headphone jacks. what do i do with them? I downloaded the drivers for them. then i tried to download ezdrummer, & that is nothing but annoying. im trying to get to the free trial, but it must be well hidden .can you help me with any of this? i hope your still on here.
I suggest reading your manual.
Great tutorial, clear and concise. Many thanks.
it will work in drum triggers? i hope you respond
This model no, if you want something you can expand, I recommend the PD705 amzn.to/45GKhwh
I recently bought one of these on Fb marketplace for $100(Canadian) so right around $75 Usd. I'm pretty happy with it except the pedals. They're ok but my bass pedal doesn't always trigger when I stomp on it. I'm just learning at 52 and don't have room in my small apartment for a full drum kit and once I get the pedals sorted out this should hopefully work fine since I never plan to gig.
These can use a standard Yamaha bass drum trigger, so it's easy to upgrade! amzn.to/3zhz6Om
@@demonicsweaters Thanks for the reply. What do you think about the Yamaha KU100. I'm thinking about getting one but it doesn't seem like a good quality pedal for the money.
Instead of making copies for each drum part in the td-17 (i.e. kick, snare, etc.), it's WAY faster to just make copies of the midi track, and then for each drum part just delete the midi notes of the drums you don't want. That way there's no midi triggering the drums you don't want to hear
Hello dude, this is great and really helped me get out of a sticky situation with my band when my laptop went down. I'm not sure you mentioned but I wondered how you found monitoring and latency? I used my (pretty old) iPad and 16x08 to run clicks and tracks at a gig, but had to set the latency pretty high to keep performance smooth. It wasn't a problem since we didn't monitor through the device, but it got me wondering if a newer iPad would solve the issue, or if the interface itself would limit performance potential in any way (looking to upgrade my iPad at the moment). I hope that makes sense - great video
Hmm, that's a good question. I can get the latency very low on my computer and even set my buffer as low as 16 without glitches, but I'm not sure on the ipad. I also know the device can do direct monitoring, but I actually am not sure how to make that work on iPad, since you have to do it on the control panel for the app in Windows. What software were you using for the backing tracks?
@@demonicsweatersthanks for this! Yeah I found the same thing, on my pc the monitoring is great because of the control panel but not sure if there is one for iPad. The rig for the gig was pretty last minute but I just ran the clicks through cubasis sent to one output for the desk and 6 others for us playing. Monitoring through cubasis was understandably more intensive though in rehearsal we did get it to a manageable level, albeit pretty sketchy with frequent skips and dropouts! So I guess I'm just trying to figure out if it's the iPad itself taking on all of that processing responsibility - because if so a new one might cope ok (or until I figure out a more elegant solution)..!
Why a pillow?
to muffle the resonance of the bass drum. This is common and what most people prefer.
Also, that was some sexually appealing triple bass action. Keep up the good work! That was amazing! I hope I wasn't too out of pocket with that one. Yes? No? Anything, guys? 🤷🏾♂️ Ok, I'll take my seat. 🪑
😂😂
Mans is hittin' us with the Nate Smith!!!!! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 "This is only a fraction of my power!" "You haven't even _seen_ my final form!" "I left the rest of my set at home." "I couldn't find the rest of my set tbh. 🤷🏾♂️" But forreal, this is an awesome video
Thank you!
hey buddy, would you know which other brand cymbals would work with Avatar drum set? example: can I have a 2 pieces hi hat ? or maybe a bigger ride cymbal from EFNOTE?
I doubt that, I'd keep it simple to dual zone triggers at the most. I highly doubt 2 piece hi hats would perform well.
WOOT WOOT
What do you mean by mixing?
blending multiple audio sounds together is called "mixing"
I love this whole philosophy you just demonstrated, love it!
Thank you!
19:31 Yeah, I don't see any hand-raisins either. 🤔
